Patara Beach
« on: July 23, 2009, 08:13:51 AM »
Hi
Can someone tell me please what the cost is to go onto Patara Beach?  I believe there is also no shade but would like to know if a trip to Patara would be worthwhile.   Is there a better part of the beach as we were also told that there is a fresh water lake along side the beach!
We are in Kalkan at the moment and having a braw time!
Many thanks
Phil

I believe it is 10 ytl each (I think), there is shade on the beach, there is a small very nice beach cafe where you can get out of the sun & there are also umbrellas which you have to pay for, can't remember how much they are.

Patara is definitely worthwhile visiting, it was once voted one of the best beaches in Europe! it will be busy this time of year but it's such a big beach there is plenty of room to get away from the crowds, the journey to the beach is lovely to, you will see all the ruins & small theatre.

Can also recommend Kapatas beach, lots of steps to go down but the sea is lovely, not much shade there but you can get umbrellas.

Last week it cost 5TL to get into the Patara National Park. the ticket is valid for a week and children are free (not sure what age up to).

Hiring an umbrella and sunlounger is allso pretty cheap, but cannot remember the exact price.

Regards

Alan

Can second those comments - fantastic beach with Lycian ruins to explore behind if you get bored of the sun and the sand and the sea - a great day out - you wont regret it!

I think it is 5 tl to get into the national park - not 10 - it is 10tl to go there on the dolmus!

Enjoy!

If you want a ticket for the week it is still 5TL but you have to tell the man at the pay box [when you buy your ticket] and he will write outone for a week with your name on it
Otherwise it's just for the day >:(

Yes, we visited Patara beach a few days ago, and paid 10TL for two to get in, while two beach chairs and a brolly were the same price.

I had never visited Patara National Park and even Patara Beach. You had given a very useful information about it. Sometimes it happens that the cost is high but the place is worth to see then we have to pay little bit.
