Shipping goods from Kalkan

Hi to you all, my name is Kate and i am Toffeelads OH (his better half really lol). We have been coming to Kalkan now for the past 5 years and this summer will be our 6th year. We love the place, the people, the food, the atmosphere and the all round beauty of Kalkan. For now it is our 2nd home but hopefully in the future sometime we hope to make Kalkan our place of residence permanently.

Anyhow what i would like to know is how safe is it to send parcels back to the UK from Kalkan and how long does it usually take. The reason i ask is that on our 1st visit to Kalkan we purchased a lovely big Turkish carpet off the guy down by the silver shop (who`s name escapes me, oh whats his name?) and has now moved down the steps opposite his old shop. When we bought the carpet off him he was ever so sincere and wanted to post it on to us after we had paid for it but as it was our 1st visit we were a little wary of this. Now we don`t see this as a problem and as you can imagine the carpet has seen better days and has been relegated to the kitchen SO new carpet here we come.

Seems like i am rambling if so i do apologise. Just a recap, how safe is it to post big parcels and how long till we receive back in the UK??

What about courier? I''ve seen UPS in town but don''t know how you would get hold of them.

If you''re going to be buying a new carpet to replace the one you want to send to UK why not ask the guy in the shop how they send the carpets back to UK?

A few years ago I bought 2 carpets and had them shipped back to UK by the seller without any problems. Can''t remember how long it took, but I''m fairly sure it didn''t take very long - within a month.
