What's it like in October?

Really hoping to come back, but it may not be until October - possibly mid.  Just wondered what it''s like then?  Is it still warm/hot and is the sea still warm?  What about the beach clubs - are they still open?  And are the restaurants and shops still open for business?

Be grateful for your advice as always.

Yes, yes, yes and yes!!!! LOVE it in Kalkan in October (nearly as much as May!) but by then things are definitely starting to wind down to the end-of-official-summer-season. I come out in the school half term holiday in the last week of October and catch the last flight out of Dalaman right at the end of the season. You''ll find at the end of the month that many - but by no means all - restaurants and shops start to gradually close up and that it''s not nearly as busy as in the high summer August holiday or September...but mid October will be lovely - great temperatures still and less crowds!

October in Kalkan is lovely.

Still warm (although, to be fair, you might need a jacket, cardy or pashmina in the evenings) but less crowded than the summer months and a generally more relaxed feel. We''ve been in November and had a great time too.

If we weren''t going back in September we''d definitely be there in October.... not enough holiday to go round though ... oh well, roll on retirement...
