Weather Sept/Oct
« on: April 26, 2009, 02:18:20 PM »
Hi, after visiting Kalkan last year for the first time and falling in love with it, I want to return again this year. Last year i stayed in June and the weather was fab, this year i''m looking at coming for 2 weeks towards the end of Sept / beginning of October. Can anyone tell me what the weather will be like then?
Thanks, Nat.

 :)

Yep - I agree here - weather will be much similar - lovely - maybe just a shade cooler and slightly shorter evenings of course..!!!

Enjoy - it is also a lovely time of year too!  8)

A big plus is that the sea temperature will be much higher, great for a day at the beach

October is my favourite time of year in Kalkan. No peckers and the sweltering heat has gone :)

My wife and I have just returned from Kalkan and loved it so much we want to return in September.

Ideally we wanted to go either 7th/14th September but there is no availability so we can ether go on 24th August or 21st Setember.  We would prefer September but my wife would like to get a good tan.  Will this be as likely at the end of September?

Does there be much rain at this time of year?

Many thanks

Hi DShiels

Know the feeling!  We went to Kalkan for the first time in May last year and on our return immediately booked to go again - late September early October (and are going again this year at the same time!)  The weather was fabulous in Sept/Oct - an amazing thunderstorm on arrival, but then lovely hot sun all day every day.  Pool and sea perfect temperature.  In the evenings it was lovely, but I needed a pashmina or light cardy some evenings.  It''s a fabulous time to go!

The sun in Kalkan is very strong.  Last year it was still around 28 degrees in the day time at the end of Oct and I spent the last morning there at the beginning of November on our terrace in a bikini.  Getting a tan won''t be a problem.  You will need warmer clothes for the evening though, as the temperature drops quite rapidly when the sun goes down.

As a natural redhead from Scotland I have to get from blue to white to slightly pink to freckles to no longer pure white to a hint of colour    ::)  Tans for me come out of bottles!  However, 2 x 2week stints in Kalkan did mean I was closer to having a proper tan than ever before!
