Does anybody know the reason WHY the water has been off for so long - I have heard a couple of rumours - one that the various pumps at Sakklikent have one by one broken down due to non servicing and the last one broke and that stopped the water - then I heard that it was sabotage by supporters of the outgoing mayor (sounds a bit bizarre to be true!!) so I just dont know what to believe - but 5 days is a hell of long time and it doesnt bode well for the summer....anybody know the real reason....

It''s nothing to do with water levels, they''ve never been higher - just limited pumping facilities at the moment. Later should be better, not worse, when the 8 u/s pumps (of 12) are fixed or replaced.

No water yet here high up on the Akbel road either. for us it is the 9th day of no water. The belediye says it is coming but ...

Subsequent to our 3rd conversation this morning with the Belediye, they have confirmed what Rat2 said that of the 12 broken pumps, only 4 have so far been fixed and they cannot say how long it will take to fix the rest of them. The alternative is to buy a tractor of water to fill your reserve tanks.

I think the new Mayor should have this on the top of his Agenda!! Season starts 1 May (infact has started for some). Maybe move the jackhammer driver off his tasks onto fixing the water? No good building more luxury villas if they can''t flush the loos when the tanks run out.

I had clients check out last year after 1 night because the water was off - seriously not good enough.........

Sounds a bit odd that 12 pumps all failed at the same time? Surely it would be better to fix them as and when they needed repair so that at least some water was getting to Kalkan - strange?

The water is ON. All 12 pumps supposedly broke at the same time.
