Hi
Can anyone tell me if fresh cream is available to buy in either Kalkan or Fethiye?

Thanks

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

I buy a product called Kaymak, made by Yorsan which is similar to clotted cream, it comes in a rectangular container containing 200g. It is sometimes available in Kalkan but I normally get it in Kas. I have seen it in several of the supermarkets there. The price ranges between 3.60tl and 5.25tl depending on where you buy it.

Have thought about that BL, and may take some out as a standby and hope it doesn''t explode in my case :o :o
It''s to make irish coffee, and the sugar content in the spray variety does mean it floats well, but I was hoping to get my hands on some real stuff. When you have an irish coffee in any of the restaurants it sure tastes like fresh cream on the top, so it must be available somewhere....bit like the slices of lime in my G&T in some of the more upmarket bars...but we really don''t want to go there with limes again, do we?? >:D >:D

You see, I hadn''t gone there with other uses for the cream but now....lovely fresh Turkish strawberries on homemade shortcake biscuits with some of that clotted cream-alike kaymak Mel mentioned...followed later on by Bombay, tonic and fresh limes...as revealed by Neil.
Afternoon tea anyone? ;D

I am reliably informed that squirty cream in a tin is available in Kalkan...my lady lizard had a drink with squirty cream on top and they ran out...minutes later a young lad appeared with more ;)
