I bought my Honda scooter five years ago in Kas - from the Beko store. At that time, no one was selling new scooters in Kalkan. I believe there are a few places now that do sell in Kalkan - the Arcelik store being one of them.

I''ve noticed more foreigners recently driving scooters so they should have more up-to-date info and hopefully will answer accordingly. I can recommend the Kas store as they were easy to work with and they might be the only local Honda dealer.

Are they much more expensive than in the UK?  Also, do they have bigger motorbikes? My husband has grand ideas of having a trailbike at the villa. Thx

Why not hire one at first to see which ones you like? ;)

Hi denners
Yes you can ride a scooter on a UK license.
Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else.

Trail bikes available in Fethiye but quite expensive. Last time I checked prices was 3 years ago - a 600 Yamaha was 13,000 TL, about £5,500 at todays rates.
You can use UK licence at the moment. You are required to carry a notarised translation at all times and I understand it will soon be a requirement for holders of residency permits to have a Turkish licence, but don''t know the deadline.

the chinese bikes are fine, like all of them you must service it regularly and take care of it.
My friend swears by his, he''s had it 5 years from new and told me he''d  done 45,000 km and still going strong!  the parts are much much cheaper than the jap bikes and labour costs here are next to nothing, so take your pick
