Less people trying to change Kalkan into a version of  little England,if Kalkan needs all the things being posted, why do people from U.K. live in Kalkan, holiday in Kalkan,Burger King ,golf courses ect,go to the Algarve or Spain and leave Kalkan as it is,It seems a lot of us like it the way it is !  >:( ;D :o 8) >:D
A Hospital, yes,a decent school for all ages, yes, burger king,a golf course(for all the reasons posted)no,how many kalkan locals would use a golf course ?

Restaurants with big photos of the food and offering things like "gut busting" breakfasts and of course happy hours in pubs called the Royal Oak etc.......over weight sweaty men topless with England shirts tucked into their shorts.

Gangs of youngsters on organised pub crawls...........

I''m with fidimax!!  The reason we bought in Kalkan was for its beauty, the restaurants and the people.

Akdenis cadesi will run from the back of the car park where the taxis hang out all the way to kalamar, past the Xanthos apartments and down to the bottom end of the kalamar road, how it will be routed exactly I don''t know, but it may well be a coastal road, at least part of the way.
never buy a house anywhere without an independent surveyors report

Jayne,

I hope that you never require hospital treatment during your time in Kalkan........if you are opposed to having one in the village......................

following on from the above comment...
I am sure that the majority of parents in the UK reading this forum had the luxury of education for their children within a short distance of their homes. To say you do not wish for education for over 11 s in Kalkan is a disgrace.
Many families have to uproot themselves and move to other towns and cities to send their children to school, and spend time apart from each other for long periods of time.
Please remember that Kalkan is first and foremost a village where people live and are entitled to what everyone hopes to have close at hand, good health care, education and entertainment. You would certainly not be happy if you did not have access to these things in your nearest town in the UK, in favt they may be reasons why you would move house to be closer to such facilities, which is just why many local inhabitants are forced to move.

One more thoughtless comment.
The Samira Hotel is closed in the winter months which is why it is being used for this class. 2 years ago Juney very kindly gave her time to take this class in another location in Kalkan, it was very well attended by both turkish and foreign ladies, and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately this location was only available for that winter, and as it was it was a particularly pleasant location, although it more than served its purpose.
Although Kalkan is full of buildings there is not a place for such a class to take place, another indicator of the total lack of facilities that kalkan has. I think it is extremely sad that the only place Juney has been able to find is an empty poolside.

Hiya KK,when do the classes finish,or will they go on all season,as for no other places to do the classes ,as I have posted, the beach is free and I should think it would be available,as for thoughtless comments would you llike them on your villa or apt poolside terrace when you are paying for it,I dont think so.
There has been no mention of when the classes will end,if the classes end when the hotel opens all well and good, and a well done should be said to Juney for giving people something to do on a weekly basis during the winter months, I have nothing against the classes, but when I pay for a hotel that doesnt state they do exercise classes,I dont expect to see them .  8)

Is it just me or has a post / posts been removed as there seems to be replies to something that is no longer there,,,,which is very confusing
Was there maybe some reference to the lack of a clinic / health service and a school??

No Kevin I dont think there has been any removed - have a look at Merciemek''s post -

" For those who live here......cinema, bowling alley, shopping centre, migros, hospital, school for over 11''''s, somewhere to ''''go out to'''' for breakfast........"

Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.
