Em, you could be right. Villas advertised in Kisla often have "2 minutes to the beach" because many people consider the beach club is a beach (we will all have a view on that  :)). Technically speaking Kisla does overlook Kalamar Bay, but most accomodation in this area tends to advertise their fantastic view of Kalkan Bay - wonder if it''s a typo?

Does the Villa have a name, Steve? Someone may know it and give you a steer on this. Most posters are advising a minibus and booking restaurants - we had to book in August - a couple of years back just for two people - because it was so busy in some of the popular restaurants. We used to either do it the night before when we were out, or on our way up from the harbour after a day at one of the beach clubs, but 9 may take a bit more planning. If you hire a minibus, it will mean someone will have to forgo the Efes and Angora if you''re out for dinner...sadly :(
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

We have a villa at Club Patara and you can get a boat from there in the day up until 8pm at night. You will probabaly need to get a taxi home at night time. However depending on how far round the villa is you might be able to walk in during the early evening when it gets cooler.

Hope this helps, please don''t hesistate to ask anymore questions!

....and Kalkan centre to Club Patara is a fairly flat walk once you get onto Kas Road - just be aware though it''s on a busy main road that is fairly well lit at night, but the paths leading down to the villas are less so. We stayed in Komurluk (closer to Kalkan centre than Patara Prince on the same road) last year and walked in and out, day and night (but needed a little maglite when we got off the Kas road in the evenings)

Might be worth taking a chance on hiring a minibus when you get to Kalkan, as you might not need one. If you use the water taxis to get into kalkan, road taxi''s for those who can''t do the walking back and buses for your days out as you originally planned, a minibus may not be neccessary.

I think Club Patara will be a great introduction to Kalkan and your mixed party will all find something different to do. It could even be that you won''t want to all eat together every night and certainly the bars you frequent will be different!
Have a great holiday!

Yes Club Patara is lovely and it''s great for families in the day with the pools and bathing platforms. There are also restaurants on site which you get 20% off so make sure your villa owner gives you the membership card for this. It''s also nice to be away from it all sometimes.
