First Name Terms

Can''t help noticing that posters of reports on hotels, restaurants and bars are frequently on first name terms with owners/waiters even if they have only been a couple of times. As a frequent visitor to Kalkan, eating out nightly, the only one I know is Kadir at Kaya, and that''s because his photo features prominently outside! Do people take little note books and ask for names?!

we have been going to Kalkan for over 20years....lots of the children that were, are now doing the army stint or working as bar boys or at uni....we have seen them grow..don''t you find that the turks are naturally curious and friendly? more people speak to us in Kalkan (and other parts)than they do at home!!they seldom forget a name  which can be awkward as i often do if onlky met briefly...but people i see year in year out always give a big smile and a hug and leave a lasting impression so as you can''t forget a name!!
