October visit
« on: October 20, 2008, 08:41:56 PM »
Hi all, I''m thinking about getting a late flight out to Dalaman next week (two kids in tow, school hols). How easy would it to be find accomodation on a flight only basis once arriving in Kalkan? Also, are any of the restaurants/hotels closed now it''s appoaching out of season? What about the Nur and Omars?

you should find accommodation easy to find and you will find that most places are still open - Nur and Omars should indeed be open!  We are there next week too and go every october half term and although it is the last week of the season - pretty much most things stay open and the town is fairly busy because it is half term - maybe see you there..!!

Are you looking for a hotel or an apart/villa - because chances are you could get a good last minute deal for an apart/villa booking so late...

The Nur is definitely open - I made enquiries for the week after next (w/c 3 Nov) and they could offer a room for that date.  I agree with Felicity that you should also be able to get an apartment at a reasonable price at this stage in the season.

Popps - try looking on www.ownersdirect.co.uk or www.holidaylettings.co.uk. You can generally contact the owners by phone and as you''re booking so late they may be prepared to accept a reasonable offer for their apartment. Good luck!
