Is there a family run hotel....
« on: August 14, 2008, 10:16:22 PM »
My pal Dick wants to bring his two girls to Turkey next year and either stay at Icmeler or Kalkan. He is looking for a small family run hotel, anybody got any suggestions? The girls are 12 and 15yrs. He intends to visit in April.

Try the Hotel Nur. Very friendly, good location (next to Omar''s Kitchen!) and Baris will look after them.

Would also suggest the Meldi. It always gets great reviews and friends of ours wouldn''t stay anywhere else.

Would second the Kelebek. It''s 7 years since we last stayed there and we are still friendly with the family, who would really look after you.

Can I please remind people of the guidelines on advertising:-The definition of advertising on the forum is "to promote a property or business to which you are connected with the view to seek financial gain" that is to say, if you own "Villa A" and reccommend such a villa on the forum this is considered advertising. The post shall be removed and your account placed under review with possible suspension. Likewise, you may operate or work for "Bar B" and suggest this is the best bar in the area, this again is considered advertising and your account shall be placed in review.

However, if you have no financial interest in something it is perfectly acceptable and encouraged to say you enjoyed your stay at "Villa A", your evening at "Bar B" etc. This is considered sharing information and impartial recommendations based upon experience to fellow forum members.

If you wish to advertise with EnjoyKalkan, there are a variety of "off the shelf" advertising packages available. Villa and apartment owners looking to rent out their property can find details of these packages and rates here. If you wish to advertise your restaurant, bar or other business, please contact us at advertising@enjoykalkan.com to discuss a tailor made solution.
Thank you
Joan

Think a post was removed.

Everyone is mentioning the names of different hotels etc., that they feel are good, I mention an apartment that I stayed in and stated the owners email for anyone that was interested in booking and my post was removed?  Clearly, it is easy for people to find the contact details of any of the hotels that have been mentioned, but this would be impossible for a privately owned apartment!  I do not see this as advertising, only a further recommendation.

Yve
I sent you a message today explaining that I had removed your posts following complaints from forum members, apologising and giving your the forum guidelines as posted above.
Can you confirm that you received that message?
In case you did not, can I clarify that in your original posts you did not make it clear that you had stayed at the apartment as a guest and did not make it clear that the contact details you gave were not your own, but those of the apartment owners.
I appreciate that you are a new member and may not have been fully aware of the guidelines, and hope this has cleared the situation up.
Joan

Hi Yve - it could be that - the first few postings from a new member on several different threads promoted one particular apartment and therefore it seemed like it might be advertising.  Perhaps some clarification as to the posting and reasons behind it may have helped?  We can''t always get it right - but we do have to be aware of possible advertising - I hope that helps?  :)
