Hi Kidd, Water at Dalaman airport is horrendously expensive!  By the time you get out of the airport the local shops in Dalaman will probably all be closed.   You''re best bet is to stop at a petrol station on the road to Kalkan.  There''s plenty of choice throughout the night.  Their prices are usually similar to the supermarkets.  Best of luck.  Alan

Also, the Smile supermarket near the main roundabout is open 24 hours a day. I bought lemons for emergency G&T at 05:00 am this morning!

Hi Kidd,
Dont know if you have the space,but we always pack a frozen bottle of water in our hold luggage and its still icy when we arrive,perfect for the drive to kalkan.Also on the way home you can take bottled water through customs or at least we did and no one bothered otherwise its very expensive at the airport

I can report, with some consternation, there is NO lime tree in Kalkan...I think Blue Lizard and Fidimax had me on a wild (lime tree) goose chase ;)
I''ve been reliably informed by someone who is local to the village, any trees of this nature will be lemon trees with unripened fruit :( Pull off a leaf and rub it in your hand the smell of lemon will be overpowering.
I packed 4 limes in my suitcase and left the diamante flip flops at home  :laugh:

However a G&T in some establishments in Kalkan does come with a slice of lime....although you CANNOT buy them in any supermarket or on the markets...so where do they come from?

As for water, if you are using Enes for your transfer they will provide you with water FOC and you will probably find a bottle of water in the fridge of your accomodation as part of the "welcome pack"...just to stay on topic  ;D
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

If it''s the Friday market in Kas, there weren''t any this year, Sally. More''s the pity. I tend to look everywhere I go in the region...after all a girl needs to pack her diamante flip flops as opposed to limes when space/weight is an issue during packing ;D ;D
Sorry...really off topic now ::)

LImes on kalamar Rd ? last year when I was in Kalkan I saw 3-4 trees with green fruit on, I asked if they
were limes and was told they were,looked like limes,tasted like limes I even tried them in a glass of Efes
and a vodka and coke, as far as I could tell they are limes, they were still there in may and july.
I cant tell anyone the location as if you cant buy them anywhere in kalkan I think I will bag them up and
sell them on the market in september. At greatly inflated prices of course !!!!!!!!!

                                                 Neil. ;D :-* >:D ::)

Ps. kalkan must have limes Mr lizard also has a secret lime tree .
