Dolmus to Kaputas

After the vague arrangements for the Dolmus service last year we were delighted to pick up a leaflet with precise times for this service this year. So with enthusiasm we turned up at the bus station at 10am as advertised. We were invited to have a sit down while several men talked animatedly amongst themselves. Then we were told that the oil cost too much so we couldnt go for the advertised 6 lira return each as no one else was waiting to go, but we could go for an extra 12 lira between the 3 of us for a private trip. As we had set our hearts on a day at beautiful Kaputas we agreed and had the Dolmus to ourselves.

If you are planning a trip to Kaputas it would seem worthwhile finding some others that want to go at the same time.

Don''t bother with going to the bus station. Walk up to the main road from the lower roundabout and flag down any bus passing. There is a bus shelter that gives some shade. Since there are more than one operator going to Kas and beyond you shouldn''t wait too long. Just hop off at Kaputas. Likewise when you are ready to return just flag down the next bus from Kas that comes along.
