Salute Kaya!

Hail Kaya Restaurant who kept all the winter visitors fed and watered in the ''out of season'' months (two visits, December and March).  Yes I know there were openings on the harbour also - but Kaya was special.  Fabulous food a lovely wood burning stove and very genuinely welcoming.  I''ll definitely be a summer visitor there now also.  Loyalty goes a long way with us Brits and shame on the Moonlight for NOT opening on new year''s eve.  By the way - if you''ve not done it, visiting Kalkan out of season is an even bigger treat than May to September  Layla x

I agree, there is always a genuine warm welcome from the boys at the Kaya, we too have spent many a winter evening chatting around their log fire.  The food is good too, steaks are fab. We will be found sitting at their bar 3 weeks today

Have to say that I rate their lamb chops up with anything I have eaten in top London restaurants. Just wish they would let me have the recipe for that chillie sweet potato mash...

Hi Lradders - as you walk out of town - up in the direction of the thursday market - you come across the roundabout where the Kalamar road is with Breeze Restaurant on the corner and Tesko (old Sevil) just before it - Kaya is the road (sort of like a dual carriageway - but not!) upwards just on the right hand side - sort of opposite Breeze!!

Irraders - you must go, and all you ''winter Kalkanites'' don''t forget to show your loyalty when/if you return in the summer and spoilt for choice.  Roger - I agree, they are very coy about their recipes.  I had an amazing and very reasonably priced sea food spaghetti bolognaise, and they wouldn''t give anything away.  Very wise really, I''ll just have to keep going . . . .  Layla x

The boys at Kaya are ın good spırıts had some lovely meze wıth them yesterday yummy. really usy as well Kadır was doıng hıs magıc trıcks and entertaınıng everyone. Hıs wıfe ıs expctıng a baby so we all had an Efes to celebrate - any excuse eh
