Probably the only downside to Kalkan is the wine - if you are a lover of good wine, IMHO, you aren''t going to find anything above very low average (and the price is high). OH & I tend to drink beer when there, with a meal,  & actually don''t drink much at all over the holidays.
Have to say had the worst ''angover in years after a few Turkish cins (gin).
Don''t need alkiihol to buck me up when in Kalkan - being there is such a high!

I think the Angora red is not too bad at all, I''ve certainly had worse. I think the problem with drinking red, especially when its really hot is that it is served too warm and tends to taste a bit like a rough sherrry. I tend to stick to white or rose when we are there in July.

It''s quite trendy to chill red wine these days......real wine buffs are now throwing their hands in the air  ;D
I prefer white, BH prefers red so when in Kalkan we meet halfway and have chilled red (Angora) - otherwise it would be a bottle each (hic!!!) with a meal. You wouldn''t do it with a nice Saint Emillion or Chateauneuf du Pape...but with a cheaper red it''s really quite nice.

Don''t knock it till you''ve tried it....!!! ;)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Im with Kalkan4eva here - I chill the red wine in the heat of the summer - much nicer and palatable and as I''ve previously said - no problem with Angora red..!! (apart from drinking too much of it of course..!!  ;D ;D)
