Our Trip Advisor renewal is coming around again for the villa and despite TA's attempts to force ever owner on to their high booking fee (% based) on-line system (3% owner, 8-15% guest) just wondered if there are any owners still hanging in to TA's 'flat fee' annual payment model - which also increased dramatically.

The problem you will find is that their algorithms favour the pay-per-book listings when displaying search results. So yes, you can pay a subscription but you will be penalised for doing so by never appearing in anyone's search results.

We managed to pick up bookings this year ok and according to our activity stats seem to be getting a good hit rate but yes the TA sales guy said you will get 'favourable positioning' with their pay-per-book system though his answers to all my questions were vague and misleading to say the least. I just think they say anything to get you to join a scheme that gives them more money though i am under no illusions that biased practices go on.
