London (North Kent) -> Kalkan

Hello All.

Although, I have been coming to Kalkan since 2005, I only moved into my apartment (Kalamar Meltem) last July - still trying to finish furnishing it.  There are a bunch of us who bought together and it was great to see the new build project take shape over a single season.  I am now looking forward to spending more time in Kalkan and using it as a base to explore the area.  I celebrated my 50th in September here - my kids really enjoyed the place as did my mother - so I hope they will use my place when I am not able to.  Now I need to start taking some Turkish lessons...

Hi mark - welcome to the forum...!!  Good luck with the turkish...I am on my second year of learning and still feel like a beginner...   Likewise - only discovered Kalkan in 2005 or year before..not sure and haven''t looked back and also lucky enough to own a villa in that bit of paradise and can''t wait to go home....(a week tomorrow!! )

Welcome to the forum and coincidence too, we''re from North Kent too (well North West anyway).  I celebrated my 50th in Kalkan in September too so you''re in good company.  Hope you enjoy Kalkan as much as we do.  Carole

Blimey Jinfizz...I don''t want to make your head tooooo big - but you sure don''t look anything like 50.....   You''ll have to tell me your secret..beyond spending time in Kalkan that is...LOL!!

Welcome Liz, depends which side of the river you''re on, I think I''m a Kentish maid but am really not that sure. I''d much rather be a Kalkanite!
