Bath Wanted
« on: January 15, 2015, 09:46:46 PM »
We normally book a villa in the same complex each time but this year Agni Travel have dropped them so I am in a search to find a replacement. Easy some might say but not when it has to have a bath, SWMBO doesn't do showers. Anybody know of a 2 bed villa or apartment with it's own pool and a bath in the bathroom available in May?

Thanks to all who have sent me messages, I spent ages going through Owners Direct & Holiday Lettings and found a nice duplex apartment ( whatever that is) over in Kisla with it's own pool which is a bonus and it has a bath  ;)called Elmas so that's us sorted for May. We always stay up by the school so this will be a new adventure for us.

Good to hear you are now sorted for May, Pompeyalbie.   Hope you have a great stay at Elmas.

As you have raised the need for a bath I would be interested to hear how many others feel a bath is essential on holiday in Kalkan.   Only one of our bath/shower rooms actually has a bath and we were wondering if we changed the room we could omit a bath and just have a much bigger shower.   I personally almost never have an actual bath, preferring to shower.  I am working on the idea of removing my own bath in the UK as part of an update- there is another bathroom with bath so visitors would not be deprived if they craved one.

Is there anyone who would not go to a villa/apartment in Kalkan without a bath?  We certainly want guests to enjoy their stay.

Tortoise lady....I'm not too fussed about a bath..i prefer a shower as I can have it cold when it's scorchio outside and then adjust it to hot if i want. It is also quicker and uses less water ..I'm more concerned about WATER being available and not cut off because of problems >:( >:D  (I suspect if tortoise lady prefered a bath then she would really be turtle lady  :P:))

We have a bath in the Master suite & from feedback it gets used a lot by older guests & by Mums bathing small children.

I cant imagine using a bath in Kalkan - although an outside jacuzzi would be nice. I like a wet-room type shower as I cant bear trying to shower in a confined space but it wouldnt neccessarily put us off renting somewhere. Other things take priority for us.

Wouldn't be without our bath, we have a couple of friends who hate showers so when they come stay are pleased we have one.

I'm a shower sort of girl even at home although I can see a bath is useful for guests with small children as I can still remember the horror of trying to showers toddlers!

Thanks folks for your thoughts on whether a bath is a necessity.   Opinion seems to be divided.   We don't normally have very young children (just too many steps etc to make it suitable) but we certainly have some people who are not so young.   We need to give the matter further consideration.   Like Kalkan4eva I couldn't imagine myself thinking what a good idea it would be to have a bath when in Kalkan!

At least, Blue Lizard, we are not normally worried about the water cuts as we have a very large reserve tank.   The house was not built as a holiday villa but for a Turkish family and when the owner was showing us round he proudly showed us the tank and indicated it was big.   He spoke very little English (we had an English speaking agent fortunately) and frankly we couldn't really understand his pride in the tank.   Since then we have discovered just how many water cuts there can be in Kalkan.   It must be really difficult to cope without a back up tank.   A moot point then whether one prefers a shower to a bath!
