Property Exchange
« on: December 27, 2014, 01:41:21 PM »
As you know we are selling the 3 bed duplex up by the traffic lights but then I got to thinking .......
I wonder about the viability / safety of doing a property exchange? I would like a similar property in Spain.
There is one website that does it but I was wondering if you guys had any pearls of wisdom?

The price you are asking for your Kalkan 3-bd apt will not buy you much here in Spain unless you move inland away from the coast. It is true that prices in Spain seem to have stabilized and it is a good time to buy. We have a 2-bdrm apt here in Marbella and have been looking for a 3-bd apt, haven't seen anything decent anywhere on the Costa del Sol for less than twice your Kalkan asking price.  Large 3-bd apartments in Elviria run around 400,000 euros but you can find older or repossessed properties for half that.  Perhaps it's different in other parts of Spain, no se! So hope you have already selected where you want to be and found something you like.

Hi Cosetta,
Thanks for the input. We are looking for inland around the Monda / Coin area and not on the coast. We will probably sell the villa too and put some of that money towards a 2/3 bed room place.  we have seen some about 200,000 Euro which would suit us.
Both of our places in Kalkan are being decorated and will be spick and span for buyers.

We will visit you in Marbella eventually!
