new kitchen
« on: March 09, 2008, 05:11:01 PM »
Hello

I do not want to cause a major disagreement, however, where can I find  a decent kitchen.  I have even googled all of Kalkan''s estate agents just to look at the photo''s of kitchens.   They are either dark brown or  as the estate agents would lead us to believe modern.  I would just like a good  fitted kitchen.

I know Turkish living is outside.  However,  I still like a decent kitchen.  In England I have a well fitted kitchen and  dinning area in cream and black with all of my white goods being Miele.

Before  you start about eating in the kitchen we also have a dinning room and a lounge.

I would just like an area where I could sit in some type of luxury not dark brown or ''modern'' according to Turkish standards where I could enjoy the views of the swimming pool and Kalkan and enjoy my breakfast not feeling depressed by the kitchen

Can anyone help

Hi
I have a fitted kitchen that is not ''brown'', but is a pale pine. I suppose it is a little old fashioned, but is light and well made. I also has a  good quality oven and hob, which I think we got in Kas.
There use to be a more modern kitchen shop on the right as you went up Kalamar Road, that did the usual UK fitted kitchen. Not sure if it still there.

     Hi,
we designed ours ourselves because of lack of choice in kalkan. Unless you find what you are looking for, a close friend last year mentioned about the architect of his villa who is also, apparently, great in interior design. Maybe you can get it made. I think her name was  Demla (not sure about spelling) at crea architecture. Apparently one of her works was featured in a place in the sun.

We bought our  designer fitted kitchen from Linea Decor in Fethiye. Linea Decor combines Italian design with Turkish manufacture. They have a very wide product  range from budget to  expensive, and a superb range of accessories which for me make the kitchen  - such as pull out wire racks instead of normal fixed shelves as internal cupboard fittings, doors and drawers which close themselves, pull out larder units, etc, etc.  They have approx 35 showrooms throughout Turkey and are considered to be a very reputable and reliable company.

The kitchen was custom built to fit our slightly odd shaped space, and we have a large central island and breakfast bar plus all integrated appliances. From selection of the units to installation was 6 weeks. Initially, we were given a number of 3d plans to choose from and were constantly able to ask '' could we move this from here to here and then have an extra x here?'' Their patience was limitless.

Comparing our kitchen with some made by local ''craftsmen'' we have a product superior in every way and paid about the same as some of the top end quotes from local joiners.

You can see their full range at www.lineadecor.com.tr

The telephone number of the Fethiye showroom is 0252 612 1718
