Boat Trips
« on: May 18, 2014, 03:25:12 PM »
Apologies for asking a question that has come up many times before but think it it would be good to get an update now the new season is underway.

I would like to give our guests some information about the best boat trip providers and how to book them, in advance. Have you any recommendations/contact details for bat trips either from Kakan or Kas.

Thank in advance for any info.

Regards

Alan

Yildiz 2 and 3 are always popular. Star gazing on the BBQ trip was last years highlight. Details

We love yildiz 2 with Osman and his wife Zeynep, lovely people and great food.  Yildiz
Boat details can be found here http://www.yildizboat.com. I am sure others will provide information on the many other boats which I know are equally as good.

Ali's boat - Anil - is also good.  His wife Victoria is not on board however.

We used to use Anil a lot, but (then) he preferred to have a boat load booking, and, as there are generally only two or four of us these days, we couldn't do it anymore.  We book the Yildiz 2 instead and haven't been disappointed yet!  September's trip already booked!

I can also recommend Sunset usually go on 2 but I know 3 as good.  I also go on Yildiz 2 but there with a whole boat group, Sunset as a single booking or maybe with 1 other friend.  Different vibe but I'm sure as much who I'm with as the boat Captains.

Since Captain Ahmet's hotmail got hacked I use the hotel to ring & book but you can wander by as they come in or take pot luck if small numbers & turn up by 10am.

We have used the Kartel for several years now and always get a great day and a good lunch.
When organising a boat trip for friends we went to the harbour, checked out the cleanest galley & loo!! We felt this was important & gave it the best marks.

We had hoped to go on a trip with Cpt Ergun when we were there last month but he only takes whole boat hires and there would have only been the two of us by that time. He quoted 600 euros for 6 people for the hire of the boat which I thought was expensive compared to Kalkan boats. Use of the jet ski would be additional to that - not sure if it included all drinks but I would like to think it did  ::)

Thanks for the info.

Looks as if we will head down to Kalkan harbour and book a trip there.  Never been dissappointed.  600 euros seems a bit steep.

Having never been to Kalkan before (and only just arrived back in the UK this morning)  :( we were very impressed by the choice of boats to go on. In the end because I am not great with water we went for the biggest, Sea Bella. I did end up with sea sickness very early on and the crew were very quick to provide me with a sea sickness tablet and water. It worked to a tee and a great day was had by all  ;D. We paid 40TL each including lunch and afternoon tea.  The crew were excellent and very attentive. The lunch was absolutely amazing (given that I had been poorly I even went for seconds!!). In my opinion the food was as good as any of the restaurants that we ate in  :) if you are happy to share a boat then this one is definitely worth consideration  ;D

Ali and his Gullet is a great day out, food on board is amazing. Will be in Kalkan next week and have booked for the 3rd year running. Always the best day if the holiday :)

There are many  boat's to choose but there are lots of things effects the pricing.

I m pretty sure none of the other operators in this area offers the things that we offer on our brand new luxury boat.

Why I m writing all of these below is to explain why we are expensive than the other boats.

SeaScooter, Stand Up Paddle board , kayak, snorkeling gears , underwater camera, go pro , guided snorkeling to the canyon dive site, ship wreck , plane and a marble stone shark statue, free wi fi , iPod dock are some of the free services that we provide on our boat.

In addition we have a speed boat which gives you the chance to enjoy water skiing, wake boarding or tubing facilities during the day.

Me and my wife which is the most important thing that I believe is we both speak fluent english and will be guiding you during the day, explaining you all the historical sites with our extensive knowledge about the area. Especially when people visit Kekova sunken city they will be just looking and trying to guess what is going on.

My wife is an excellent cook and you will be on family atmosphere during the day on our boat .

So please pay attention when you are writing steep or expensive please also consider the services and the quality that offered .
Let me give you a very simple example . I have seen that most of the boat tour operator seems to be serve frozen fish. we offer Barbecued fresh whole sea bream or sea bass during the trip.

I invite all of you to join us and see the difference.

Best Regards
Cpt. Ergun
