Gluten free

Can anybody tell me if any of the supermarkets sell gluten free products? Also, are there any restaurants that that would cater for coeliacs?

Hi skuza. I have a feeling this question has been asked before. Try doing a search in the box above. I'm afraid I can't help you re gluten free supermarket products but I'm sure that all the restaurants will be able to offer a wheat/gluten free option on their menu although it probably won't say so on the actual menu itself. I'm sure that if you ask the waiters, they will find out whether any flour etc has been used in the dish. Everyone is so helpful. Failing that, I'd probably just choose wisely and ask the waiter to double check before  eating.
Hope you manage ok.    :)

Hi skuza, my daughter has to have a gluten free diet and has visited Kalkan many times with no problems. We've never seen any g free bread or anything like that for sale but the choice in restaurants is huge and she has always been able to find lots of suitable things to eat.....you jut have to be care with things like meze. She always takes some breadsticks or crackers out with her in the evenings (brought from home) to dip into the free meze dips that usually appear, so that she doesn't feel left out!

I took my Mum who is Coeliac. She got a leaflet from the Crossed Grain Society with what she couldn't have in English and Turkish. She showed it in restaurants and they were always happy to accommodate with no problems at all. They understood the reasons etc. She took her own bread/biscuits etc. but restaurants were not a problem at all.
