Tanzore Indian restaurant (Chapter One)

I had a terrible meal at Tanzore, the Indian restaurant in Kalkan. I am a regular Trip Adviser reviewer & villa owner in Kalkan & left them a poor, but accurate review. Now I've received a threatening email from Billy the owner.
As anybody else had issues with this place? I'm big enough to look after myself, but you don't expect that. Warning to all!

I have eaten twice in Tanzore since the opening earlier in the year, and both times had an exceptional meal. However I have not been recently so cannot comment if standards have slipped.
Perhaps you can be more specific on what was wrong.

We had a lovely meal there last week although the service was a little slow. Couldnt fault the food and would readily return if there was more staff.

Now come on guys you know you're not allowed to criticise a bad restaurant.....heaven forbid any criticism of rubbish food and service may impact their future business....and we can't have that.....I got grief for negative comments about the Chinese....water off a ducks back if it's rubbish I say so.....why not start a thread the ten worst restaurants in Kalkan I think you would be surprised how many comments you would get on that one.

Misty, you are right.  I`ve removed my original post regarding Tanzore. No need to go into too much detail.  I`ll just add to this topic by saying that I had the very same bad experience and wouldn`t return.

It would be interesting to hear exactly what these two new posters found wrong. It's not very helpful to be negative without expanding on why....might give the impression that there is a hidden agenda otherwise.

We had two very good meals in Tanzore in June and would recommend it. Wrote on here that we liked it and on TA because we did. Misty, you got stick because you criticised a restaurant you hadn't eaten in for years without stating you hadn't eaten in it for years....we all know things can change in one season. I have no problem saying if we had a bad meal or service, but always quantify what the problem was....people will either trust your judgement or not based on your previous posts. A thread saying which restaurants people found disappointing isn't a bad thing providing the reasons are stated too.

Experience, not the Indian of course and I have not made any comment on that. But I agree maybe a thread most disappointing is a good idea, it can cover all manner of things as well.

We ate in tanzore a few nights ago and it was very good. The service was good, the food good and all the other diners were complementary about the food they had eaten. On what was a cold night the food was perfect and the plates so hot you could use them as a hand warmer.

I'm not negative...I love Kalkan even if there is going to be a go kart track soon  does it matter when I was last there, the Chinese was awful when I was, so I base my opinion on that....btw I'm sitting with a cold Efes watching the moon over the bay....

Others with axes to grind or competitors can get involved in any negative list as we have seen on TA...that's why I left it and came on here as I couldn't be a***d to sort the wheat from the chaff!!...

Sorry admin, I mis-read your post 

I don't think it's a good idea as I think it could get out of hand very quickly, you must understand you are dealing with people's livings / lives / family's etc. A lot of the restaurants in Kalkan have to borrow money from family, friends, banks etc, they want to please so they can earn a decent living while paying their loans back.....it's tough out there for most of them.

If you have a problem with a meal etc tell the owner while you are still in the restaurant, I'm sure most will only be to happy to sort out any problems you have, that's a Much fairer way of dealing with a problem, not coming on a forum like EK and moaning about it while hiding behind a name....like onelove

Totally agree BL. Can of worms comes to mind,once the lid is off it's so hard to put it back on,
so best not to take it off in the first place
