I cannot, for the life of me, understand why anyone would eat in the same restaurant every night while in Kalkan? There are so many fabulous, yummy places to choose from? That's part of Kalkan's appeal?

What a shame Christina, I hope you manage to sort a reservation.

I emailed Small House last Thursday (almost feel awful for doing this now too )to ask for a reservation for Saturday 25th May, they advised they were fully booked then, 23 days before! They certainly are busy.

Hehe, I have a cunning plan! My lovely friend and neighbour Maria, who owns the BSG handbag shop opposite Merkez, has offered to set up a table for me on her rustic balcony overlooking the main street, just a short distance away from 'you know where'. I will do my best to resist leaning over and looking back up the hill to see who the phantom balcony booker is, and just enjoy the view from this unique vantage point. There is no bookings diary, no email address, and no waiting list. Just how I like it!

What a fabulous idea and what a lovely thing for her to do! I too have a cunning plan that involves BSG, however its more of a handbag & OH's card type of plan! Mwhahahaha!

i have a couple of little eateries i use and keep those under my hat which makes my head look long and tall but at least seated

New bar opening called the fountain bar is opposite cafe del Mar. We sort of gate crashed last night as wasn't really open they were happy to serve us thought and the owners were lovely.  You go up a spiral staircase to it and past lots of lovely photos of kalkan. At the top is the rooftop bar with a lovely fountain. X
