4G Internet Access

Can anybody explain to me exactly what 4G is?  I understand you can access hotspots anywhere for free?  But is this true in Turkey?

I am about to spend the summer in a house in Akbel without Internet access and I can't live without it.  Sad, I know.  So, I am planning to buy a new device and am told to go for something like an IPad2 which will give me free access to the internet through 4G.  Can anyone give me advice on what to buy (in Fethiye) - either tablet or laptop?  Cost is an issue too.

I have researched it on the internet but have found no information in plain language. So, I would be grateful for some help.

I think whoever gave you that information was very confused. In Turkey the rollout of 4G is not planned to start until 2016 and even then is likelyto take some time to get to Kalkan. Also 4G is a premium not free service.

Its possible they were confusing 4G with WiFi, this is available widely in Kalkan (in lots of hotels, bars and restaurants) and is free. If cost is an issue you might want to look at something other than an iPad, there are now a number of Andoid tablets that are just as good (unless you are already a big itunes user) for around  half the price.
