Somewhere to stay in September
« on: February 26, 2013, 12:04:37 PM »
Hi

Have been to kalkan many times and am visiting again in July. However, would also like to visit in early/mid sept. Need a quiet hotel near to town centre (not up near petrol station or the hills) which is cheap, good quality and can offer safe, reliable transporation to and from Dalaman. Any ideas? I was recommended the Asiyan but they have ignored my emails.

Thanks and best wishes to kalkan lovers everywhere.

Barry (Bazza70)

Pirat used to have some really  good deals on in Sept, reasonably quiet in Sept and very central, However as Sept appears to becoming more and  more high season! I suspect  whatever reasonably priced hotel you choose will still use the local transfer companies. most hotels I know of who provide badged  private  transfers tend to be the higher cost ones.

Have you had a look at Pasha Aparthotel, town end of Kalamar Road? Samira Gardens also very central and very reasonable.
Good Luck :)

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

Try Samira Hotel and apartments in the center (almost) of Town and book seperate transfers. I booked transfers with Travel Republic who used Yesil Dalyan and had a dreadful experience on return journey. I used travel republic to book hotel and flights and their prices appear to be as reasonable as any.

The Turquoise Collection are now advertising the Courtyard Hotel right in the heart of the village...looks lovely but not sure if its cheap....they can arrange transfers. There's also the White House right in the centre too.

There is a little Pansayon opposite the White House that just has smallish bedrooms with balcony and is very Turkish. I think it's called Gul Pansayon.  Another option is to try and do a deal with Pirat - they do offer v good prices if you book direct.  8)

The Moonlight Restaurant (not to be confused with the Moonlight Bar) at the town end of the Kalamar Road) is also a Pansayon. Very reasonable and nice very clean rooms.

Last year, I am sure I saw The Meldi Hotel were offering free transportation to and from the Airport of you stayed a week? A quaint, friendly place, with a level walk across to the Taxi rank?

Cheers,
Steve

If you book direct with The Meldi hotel fior 7 days or more then transfers to and from airport are free. September however is a very busy month and not alwys easy to get booked in.

Lovely, friendly hotel and we will be back again in June.

Hi Bazza 70,

How many of you are in your party. It may be as economic to stay in an apartment, with much more space for you.We have a beautiful apartment with a truly amazing view and very close to the town centre.

We are booked solid, except for a couple of weeks in September. If interested,pm me.Good luck

Hi Barry,

Can highly recommend the Meldi, is reasonable rather than cheap but very nice, quiet with many repeat customers that tend to be the mature type !  Including me.  You do get free transfers from Dalaman per couple booked for 7 days.  Google & find their website.

Gul Pansyion is simple but clean as a whistle & no pool but right in town 10mins from Kalkan Beach.  Very Turkish but Omer who took over from his parents 6 years ago when got married has reasonable English.  Again has website for booking.

Last but not least Samira Gardens is middling of other 2 suggestions & you can book direct with them via e-mail rather than going thru' Travel Republic.  Reading their stand outside end of seaon last year I think they included transfer a bit like Meldi & if not I'm sure they could arrange it for you.  Cheap shared transfers from Transfers4U are just a bit longer winded becuase of stopping other places on the way.

Hope that helps,

LL

Post Modified: Please do not advertise your property for rental - This should only be done if you have a special offer and it is in the correct section
