Food and drink prices.....
« on: September 02, 2012, 08:05:12 PM »
Hi all, still hoping to visit next May, i know it's a little early, but need to sort the old budget out! What can expect to pay for a meal for the two of us with drinks?

Getting so excited as we booked to visit a few years back, and it all fell through with the airline going bust! ::)

Hi Welshgal
Didn't anyone answer you on this post?  I was on holiday when this one came through so have only just found it.
You can pay as much or as little as you which on a meal in Kalkan depending on the type of establishment you want to visit.  If you budget on what you would pay in the UK then you will have some money left over at the end of your holiday for presents and you will have had some really really nice meals.  The local brew you can pay anything from 3.99TL to 7.00TL in an eatery, that's was this year's prices of course.
Anything else just let us know.
Jo

Hi
I have just returned from Kalkan
Average prices were around 7tl for a pint of lager, 9 - 11 tl for a glass of wine and about 17 tl for a cocktail
theres some lovely cocktail bars on the harbour
For meals we paid around £45 for 2 of us a starter and main and a drink in the restaurants on the harbour. Gironda and Aubergine are slightly more expensive but well wort the visit.
There are also cheaper restaurants further up the hill away from town , more local and still as nice we ate at Hunkar Okabasi 3 times costing around £12 for the two of us to eat a gorgeous kebab (highly recommended!!)
If you want to buy wine to have in your room or villa Lucky supermarket is very cheap and would recommend Lal if you like rose and Angora white , it is nearly a 3rd of the price you pay in the restaurants. hope this helps any other questions just ask x
