Asiyan Hotel
« on: August 12, 2012, 03:09:53 PM »
Can someone confirm if this hotel is on the corner of the Kalamar Road and the road that runs up to the back of the Yali supermarket.

Thanks
Michelle

If you go up the dirt road at the side of Kartin supermarket it is on your right as you meet the dirt track that comes up from the Kalamar Road. It's next door to the back entrance to the Swan Pub.

I seem to have got my bearings wrong then. I thought there was a gate poolside but nearer the kalamar road end.
Worried now about accesibilty for someone on a motability scooter.

Thanks
Michelle

There is a large gate near the pool which opens onto the road that runs down to the Kalamar road (and is parallel to the main market road).  Although it is a dirty road (ie: not concreted) I would have thought that a mobility scooter should be OK with that - the road is used by scooters and cars alike....

we know this track well, using it of a night may be problematic for a mobility scooter as its not well lit and its very uneven in places. Although its very close to town, a taxi door to door maybe a better option of an evening.
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

My father has used the track using a rollator in daylight and I have to pick out the best route for him as it is uneven in places. At night it isn't lit.

With a mobility scooter (haven't ever seen one in Kalkan, will it be powerful enough to get back up the hills) I think you would be better to go uphill from the Asiyan to the Atlanis spa and then go down the side to the Yali supermarket along the tiled path.

We used taxis last holiday at night. With a disabled person they can get permision to drive into the old town to drop you off and pick you up, which gave us access to certain restaurants in the old town.

Thanks Felicity thats what I thought. Normally stay at Dionysia but they are full so that part of the Kalamar suits us fine.
Thanks Kalkanregular and kalkan4eva she has been using her scooter there for many years if we go to harbour area its taxi there and back but if staying in town  then taxis not necessary although a bit rickety sometimes.

Now I know it is the one I thought we can deal with that bit of track from pool gate to K Road.

Regards
Michelle
