Hi all,
We are staying at the Pirat for the 1st time come Aug/Sept and wondered if anyone has used the hairdresser/barber etc within the Pirat Hotel as it would be very handy as I understand they do pedicures as well as hair, would welcome any comments if you have used them at all.

Hi Chrissy, Hubby used the barbers for his shave and said they were very good. Didn't use hairsalon but it seemed very popular. Yes they do pedicures as well.

Hi Nicky

Have you any idea how much the pedicures cost at the Pirat, also do they do acryllic nails? Am thinking of having both done whilst on holiday?

I know they charge 25 TL for a manicure, don't know about acrylics but I am sure this has been asked on here a year or 2 ago.

Hi Jayne, sorry can't remember how much the pedicures were. I picked up a leaflet whilst we were there thinking it had prices on but it just tells you what treatments they do. OH seems to recall seeing somewhere that did acrylics but can't remember where!! I'm not really much use to you am i?!! ::) ::) There is a beauty salon on Kalamar road called Jasmine , not sure if these will do acrylics.

Thanks Nicky I think my OH will use him then, I have it in my head that I saw it was 20Lira for a Pedicure Jayne but couldn't swear to it as I did have my holiday brain on when we went for a look.

Do you mean the one underneath the Pirat by Sarpendon Gallery? If so, that's where my OH has his haircut and shave and he pays 25 lira.  I picked up a price list and I think a pedicure was 25 lira which is the same as Jasmine, where I have had my last couple of pedicures.  I've not seen anywhere that does acrylics, although I would be interested to know as I always break a couple of mine while I'm busy doing nothing! ;)
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

Just to clear up any confusion, there has been a men's barber shop underneath the hotel pirat for a few years now, and new this year a  ladies salon has opened half way up to the pool, next door to the spa and Turkish bath. I can't comment on the hair cuts but I had a manicure and pedicure there last week and the girl, zeynep was very good. It cost me 45 lira for the two of them. As far as I am aware, this salon along with the rest of the salons in Kalkan do not do acrylics.

Hi Derya
That is exactly the one I was meaning - up the 1st flight of stairs at Pirat 2, didn't realise it was a new one, was thinking it might be a nice treat to have a blow dry one night save me struggling with me frazzled curls so might give it a try and will let u all know if I do. so many thanks for all your tips so far.

The barbers are the guys from Elit who have now both relocated from the alley in town and a man's haircut costs 15tl. They also own the hairdressers, I had a good cut & blow dry which was 20 tl  and had a permanent colour for 40 tl which still looks good some 9 weeks later (other than the roots). I did notice that they had a price list on the window.
Apartment owner nr. Kalamar.

45 TL is excellent value for a manicure and pedicure.  Will definitely be trying there I think!  ;D

Hi I had a blow dry at this salon 2 weeks ago and I was pleased with the result. Last week I didn't fancy the trek down the hill to the harbour, so I went to the new salon above Kippa supermarket. I think the blow dry in this salon was just that bit better! Hair looked the same but had a bit more bounce!  :D

Hi. I also had a blow dry at jasmine on Kalamar road in May. The blow dry here was good too! I paid 20 lira at all three salons. Overall I think the blow job  I had at the Salon above Kippa, looked best and lasted longest. L

I was reading on Tripadvisor that manicure or pedicure in Fethiye/Calis Beach/Olu Deniz costs 6 lira!!!!

Can't even see how that would cover wages :(

Hi Lilly
We had thought about shortening our user name on EK to just initials but thought that inappropriate!  ;D

I do agree Bob, might be misconstrued.   :o :o :o ??? ::) However I can thoroughly recommend, if you can slog up the hill towards Oz Adana near the D400 east end of village, Wella for a pedicure and manicure, plus great flaming of all the male (noticeable when dressed) accoutrements!!  Not sure of prices but seemed good value to me.  I gather they also now have a relaxing massage chair etc.  I have never seen such minute scissors used for the cuticles.  I assure you both you willbe AMAZED. You could also combine it, after 6th Aug, with a visit to the villa we are staying in on the way bsck for a glass or so - or indeed luncheon if you feel so inclined!!  ;D ;D

I had a manicure and toe nails painted at Divas on the stairs leading up to the Pirat back in June for 25TL and it was absolutely perfect.  20TL for manicure and 5TL for toe nail painting.  You would pay that in GBP just for a manicure alone in the UK.  Paying just 5TL for a re-polish, you wouldn't bother doing it yourself!!!

OH had a full body massage at the Barbers below and that cost 14TL for one hour - he said it was great.

Both excellent value for money and highly recommended.
