Beach Park Kalkan
« on: July 12, 2012, 05:25:00 PM »
I have just been looking at photos on Facebook of Beach Park Kalkan  and it looks lovely. Can anyone tell me whether or not you can get a sunbed and umbrella as it looked very busy and lots of people were sitting on towels? The outdoor restaurant under the huge green gazebo looks a beautiful place for dinner too.

Thanks.

Jayne

It's the one furthest along the coast, past Palm Beach and Patara Prince :)

Ah yes, the one that used to have a water slide?  Always thought it was a children's paradise but maybe it has changed now? If the water slide is still there I think I'll go to Mahal, I get enough of children at work!  :) :) :-\

Maybe that is why it looked so busy then Skunk, it must be more of a children's beach park, there was a platform in the sea with so many people on, but I didn't see a slide.  Perhaps best to try one of the other ones I think!  ;D ;D I too see a lot of children as I work in a School. We have not visited a beach club yet but intend to this year but are unsure of which one to go to.

I can fully recommend Palm Beach. It's really laid-back and chilled with plenty of comfortable sunloungers and parasols. You've got a choice of areas - decking, grass, concrete, pebble beach - and some are really secluded and private if you want complete peace and quiet. There are also Ottoman seating areas where we like to have a Turkish breakfast and coffee after a morning swim. The food served is really good too with lots to choose from :)

JenJen, Do they charge for sun beds or the boat, they all seems to be different, or whether there is an entrance fee? Sounds lovely though.

The boat from the harbour is free, as is entrance to the beach club.  There is a charge for sunbeds, not sure how much it will be this year but it's reasonable.  Any food and drink you have will be added to your bill and you settle up before you leave.  They will also order and pay for your taxi home if you don't want to get the free boat back to the harbour :)

The staff are all lovely and greet you off the boat explaining the sunbed charges and how it all works.

Their website's a bit out of date but has some lovely pics: http://www.palmbeachkalkan.com/

Spent the day at Palm Beach yesterday and was wonderful. Staff were lovely, food nice and the taxi home at the end of the day was a real bonus after a long hot day.

Love Palm Beach it is so relaxing and peaceful we didnt manage it last visit but hope to in August, the other one they are discussing here is Kalkan Beach park and is the only one that doesnt charge for anything apart from food and drinks which is why the taxi boat across was overflowing whilst we were there so u can imagine how busy it is if thats what u want - can imagine its not very peaceful there  ;)

Haven't tried Palm Beach but intend to this year.  We always go to the Mahal Beach Club, it's very secluded with platforms for two people or more separated by steps.  The food is fabulous and you are treated like royalty.  The boat is free from the harbour but you pay for sun beds about 15tl each I think.  It is quite pricy if you have all the trimmings but you can take a picnic. Great relaxing day out!

Hi everyone.  Hubby and I like Yala Beach Club on the opposite side of the bay.  Last year the sunbeds were free but this year they are charging.  They have uograded the facilities.  When we visited in May the charge was 8tl per bed.  It was lovely and peaceful in May, don't know what it is like high season.  The food and coffee was very good and the staff are lovely.  Really apoligetic that they had to charge.  They said everyone would be charging this year.  Sign of the times I suppose.

Yeah we went to Yali last year it was lovely and definitely want to try Mahal this August too,we intended to in June but it was so damn hot we just stayed on the beach all day so I could cool off in the shallow waters of the sea - I not too good in the deep waters.

Might see you there then Chrissy.  It is quite deep water but beautifully cool as there are cold springs running through the seawater.  I usually use a noodle to get in.  The good thing it has a cooling breeze all morning on a hot day and the sunshades are really really good quality.
