Kalamar beach club charges
« on: July 31, 2012, 06:56:10 PM »
Please could somebody clarify the policy at the beach club? On our second day in kalkan my daughter and her boyfriend both 17, headed to the club alone, hired loungers, had burger and salad for lunch and 2 orange juices. When she returned she said they were charged 75tl and told the taxi fare back to the villa was at their cost - seems a bit steep and as its our nearest beach club am a bit disappointed!

Hi,
4 of us (adults) went in June. The total cost for sunbeds, beers, lunches, beers and water came to 202TL. The taxis were paid for by the club. However, I didn't see the bill so cannot confirm  that the taxi fares were not added in.

Hi Muckyones

When you take the hire of the sunbeds out 17TL.
58TL for a Burger, Salad and two Orange Juice does seem is abit steep unless there was vodka in the Orange Juice!!!!!! ;) ;)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday.

This is a previous thread on the Kalamar beach club:- http://enjoykalkan.com/forum/index.php?topic=9614.msg65094#msg65094

I haven't been myself but I know that someone staying in our development in July had a taxi there & back (for 4) & realised she had paid for them indirectly by having been charged a high rate for the 4 sunbeds.

I did a report on this on our last day, including costs - see Holiday Reports.

The prices were agreed at the time I telephoned to book in. The agreed price was TL13.50 per person for the sun beds, taxis paid for by them.

The food and drink was reasonably priced, as you can see from my report. From memory, I worked out that if I had two soft drinks, one salad, one chips and two burgers - plus two sunbeds and taxis paid by them I come to circa TL75?

The food was large portions, wine was pretty good pricing and I never felt ripped off. I did clarify with the taxi driver going home that I wasn't paying, as it was an absolute free for all, and I felt, easy to be ripped off.

Hi Mucky,

If you walk five minutes round the coast to Kulube (and presuming you don't need trampolines, banana boats etc.) you can get sun beds, parasol etc. for free. There's also a cafe bar which seems to be cheaper than KBC (although more basic). This was my experience last August and hoping it's not changed as going back soon.

When we were in Kalkan last month we noticed that the food prices were more expensive at Kalamar than Palm Beach, the only other beach club we went to. The overall cost was more too.....and although we prefer the atmosphere at Palm Beach I did love sitting on the swimming platform at Kalamar looking out to sea....what a view!

Thanks guys, wonderful help as always on this forum - think I will be popping down with them next visit and having a little chat - thInk they may have been vulnerable due to their young ages. Apart from that we are having a wonderful time, considering I have three teenagers that's no mean feat! Cafe vita BBQ night tonight after a day a patara - the weekly family ticket Is such good value :-)

We've been to the Kalamar Beach club 3 times in the last 2 weeks, we got our Appartment Manager to call the Kalamar to collect us with their shuttle and take us back at the end of the afternoon and the charge each time was 9.50TL per person including sunbed and umbrella and the shuttle. We are staying at the Elvina Appartments just a few minutes walk from Elixir Hotel and Aqua Cafe, so it's not too far from Kalamar. I get the impression that the inclusive cost varies depending on how far the shuttle has to travel, as they would always ask how you got there and where you were staying before giving the price when showing you to your sunbeds.
