We are going to Kalkan for first time in september (not first time in Turkey though), and will be staying at Truffle residences near to town end of Kalamar road. How far are the supermarkets, bakeries etc from the aparts? We have also read some good reviews about Cafe Vita, and, Aqua cafe bar in Kalamar rd, am hoping they are more at the Kalkan end than Kalamar? We will be looking for a take-away when we arrive as it will be quite late, any ideas please. What is the best way to exchange money, as I said its a long time since we've been to Turkey!!

Thanks for any replies,

Anne and Jim

The new "tescoExpress" supermarket is very close to you as well as the Kartin and A100(?). All the Supermarkets sell bread. (The bread with the circular bumps on the bottom is from a large commercial style oven, whilst the rough bottomed bread comes from a traditional oven). The Veg shop ,a Fish shop and Butchers are all in that area at the start of the Kalamar Road as well.
Cafe Vita and Aqua are at the opposite end of the Kalamar Road but you can catch the dolmus from the roundabout there if you don't fancy the walk. At least three good takeaways around there too.
Exchange money either at the Banks, PO, most jewellers or Tourist shops

You'll be very close to Chillis there too... Great takeways... Its on the corner of the Kalamar Road and the road that drops down to the harbour... Great food and friendly staff... We always take £50 YTL with us and the rest in £... Post office and shops in the main street give very good rates... Looking at my screen now the rate has just touched 2.8404 YTL/£... Not too far off where it was last year ;D ;D...
