Favourite places to while away the hours
« on: May 31, 2012, 09:40:34 PM »
;D Just paid our final payment for the Villa we are staying at! only 7 weeks to go now cannot wait to get to Kalkan again! I have been working long hours day dreaming of sitting in the Fener watching the boats come and go then to the Moonlight for a nice cold Efes.
Sad I know but we are so missing Kalkan.
Where are your favourite places to sit and do nothing in Kalkan? 8)

Love Indigo in the late afternoon, drinking iced lemonade and watching the boats coming back to harbour while hubby has a swim in the sea.

Daytime; on a sunlounger by the pool plugged into my ipod and pile of magazines at my side,
Evening; sitting at Moonlight bar with a raki(or 2!) people watching.
Both of which i'll be doing next week :) :) :) :)

I'm with you on this one Nicky, hoping this year to be floating elegantly in the pool on my new water hammock, but better leave the new kindle on the lounger just in case I'm not quite as elegant as I'm imagining myself to be. Automan, I might just drag myself away and sneak off with you for a swift Efes and people watch, especially if we can leave the girls at the villa with grandma and grandad this year!!! Ooh I can't wait!!!
Have a great holiday Nicky, I'm really jealous !!!  :) 8)

At home I'm constantly on the go, so it usually takes me a good few days to wind down on holiday...but not in Kalkan. Love a private roof terrace or a huge balcony to really chill out on the sun lounger with a newspaper, book or magazine.
Also love Palm Beach with a mojito in the late afternoon sun, or the town beach with a glass of Lal from the cool bag, watching the boats coming back into the harbour.....can't wait. Have I mentioned I'll be in Kalkan next week...? ::) ::)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

We're in Kalkan next Friday too! Favourite day time way to while away the hours - either on the villa roof terrace looking out to sea as the boats wind in and out of the harbour, complete with ipod or in the evening, sat on a restaurant roof terrace, chilled glass of lal in hand listening to the call to prayer in the background - sublime!

Has to be The Cafe del Mar, no contest! Great vibe, great music, joss sticks, comfortable sofas or tables and chairs, books, gifts and great drinks, food and our friend Murat, his wife and staff.  He has a Hookah as well!    B. Lizard!......comment?   >:D

Cheers, Allan and Chris

While being subjected to a rather major tooth repair in the dentist recently (stay with me here....) I decided to 'put' myself in my favourite place to relax......wasn't very successful as I couldn't make up my mind between my favourite sunbed at Palm Beach or the deck of Moby Dick.....but it was fun trying to decide and passed the time!! In the evening....a rooftop restaurant with another delicious meal followed by a cocktail at Trio......but then again last October we spent many a happy hour sitting at Kleo with a glass in one hand and a book in the other.....oh dear seem to be undecided again!!.....can I just plump for Kalkan in general??
