Drinking Lal in UK
« on: May 13, 2012, 06:39:59 PM »
We have discovered it is possible to order delivery of Lal in the UK.   We enjoy sipping well chilled Lal on a hot day in Kalkan but will it taste the same on a cool day in UK??   If we try it before our visit next month will it put us off the wine?

Perhaps the answer is to wait until we come back from Kalkan and try it then, hopefully the weather will be warmer here  or I can turn up the heating and sit looking at webcams in Kalkan as I sip the Lal.

I discovered Retsina in Crete many years ago and still like enjoy the occasional bottle when the weather warms up in UK (sure wouldn't work with roast beef!!).

Has anyone tried buying Lal here and care to say if they enjoyed it the same as in Kalkan?   Or are you horrified at the idea?   We haven't yet tried drinking Efes in UK and I know some of you have been able to buy it and enjoyed it.

Let's be honest , you would not drink efes or lal wine in England but its the only thing on offer in kalkan so you have to put up with it .

I regularly drink EFES in Wetherspoons and do so because i like it..... i quite like Lal too and although not a wine expert i know what i like and would happily drink it in the UK..it can be no worse than some table/house wines sold in the UK
