Its getting closer and the travel agent still can't confirm that the Samira will be open on 1st May.  Anyone noticed any more activity there?

I spoke with the owner last week and he said they were expecting their first guests at the beginning of May so I'm sure they will be ready for your arrival.  If you are concerned email them directly on samira.h@superonline.com
Their restaurant Kosk, in the centre of the village, opened last Friday night.

Hi Toni
When will you be in Kalkan?  I am travelling alone as well this year (and then later with a friend).  If you are around the same time as me then happy to meet you for a coffee somewhere.  I will be there 28 May to 4 June, staying not far from Samira.

Jan.

Thank you Charlie and Denners for your great help.  It is much appreciated.  I have done as you suggested and sent an email.  I have tried calling several times but get an answering machine and as my expertise with the Turkish language is limited to saying thank you, I beat a hasty retreat.  got the engine running now.

Hi JanB, thank you but I am going to be in Kalkan 8th-15th July I hope you have a great holiday.

Sandancer, stop worrying everything will be fine it's a very popular and well known hotel, they are not gong to risk their business and reputation by not being open.

Hi Tonik. I have stayed at the Samira twice now over the years and I have found it to be very clean, staff very friendly and the food good. You will have NO problems in Kalkan as a single woman, none at all. Have a great holiday and don't worry!!!!!

Hi,
If you leave a message they all speak perfect English, but as they are not open yet, probably there is no one on the desk, answering the phones!

We are all installed at the Samira. They opened yesterday so nice and quiet. The hotel is immaculate. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We could not ask for anything more.

Really pleased to hear you're happy with your choice. As you say it is a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and in the centre of everything. Enjoy!
