Recommendations for 2 week holiday in October please!

Hi, we are considering 2 weeks in Kalkan from 12th October this year. 

I'd be grateful if anyone could confirm please whether this is so close to end of season that the resort will be winding down?  Also, if anyone could provide ideas for activities, places of interest, excursions that would be a "must" for the 2 weeks, bearing in mind we are not into extreme activities or sports.

Don't worry!!..everything will still be open.....try a jeep safari,get down and dirty(wet n dusty) so don't wear good clothes,t shirt shorts and swimmers...

I too am going from 13 October, long story but now have to go on own (very annoying!)

Are you going with friends?

Just wondered if you would like to talk before you go so maybe we could meet there. 

I am quite normal, work for law firm in Guildford!!

Am staying at kormuluk appts and have done lots of research and think there are masses of htings to do and some fantastic places to eat etc.

I posted earlier and said that I'm there with a friend from 14th October.
We always go away at that time and leave our husbands at home with the kids! We are both teachers and enjoy relaxing, reading books and eating and drinking.
We are at the Samira if you need a bit of company.
PS I know lots of people who have been on their own to Kalkan and they always have a great time. This will be my 8th time.

Sorry for the late reply - computer suffered the Dreaded Blue Screen and went kaput.  Yes, we did book our holiday for 12th October and we too are staying at the Samira Deluxe Apartments! 

Can't wait - only a few days to go.  Feel free to PM me and maybe we'll see you there!

October is my favourite time to be in Kalkan - there's a real "end of term" feel to the place and everyone is relaxed and looking forward to their break if they close. As BL says everywhere is open, but one or two places do close before the end of the month - Karen, as you are staying in Komurluk you may like Palm Beach Club - just below you - which does tend to close before the end of October
As for trips out and things to do, Lulu try a visit to the Greek Island of Meis (you will need your passport and euros), Fethiye is worth a trip (the Fish Market is an eye-opener) if you like shopping, Sakklikent, Tlos - so many places to visit. Pop into the village and have a chat with Linda at Abi Travel, she'll give you a rundown of their tours and see what takes your fancy.

Crikey...how did that happen?? Definitely a senior moment (they used to be blonde moments but I can't really get away with that any more ) Haven't got a clue how that ended up in recent unread topics..? Thanks Joan and bless you for being kind
