Ahhhhhhhhh the Krankies ;D just seen them promoting their next pantomine with John Barrowman. Jeanette, errrrrrr wee Jimmy, apparently fully recovered from her accident a couple of years back, when she fell from the beanstalk on stage and was badly injured :o :o

;D ;D The poor wee soul apparently got quite badly injured. Good to see (well sort of) that he/she's back to full health :)

Re headaches..........
I noticed many years ago that british beer (not real ale particularly but the "electric" crap that used predominate in my native north east and also Tetleys bitter when I moved "south") gives you a stotting head and nasty hangover. But I never got the bad heads if I drank a similar quantity of Becks (much stronger than most draught beer). The answer................................................................the excellent Reinheitsgebot aka the German purity law!
Its the impurities (ie chemicals) that give you the bad head, not the beer. So on the basis of BL's lack of bad heads after quaffing Efes, I'd say Efes is good and pure!

100% true.  All these 'continental beers' are 'brewed' by chemical companies, not brewers.  I would be tempted to put Tetleys, John Smith's and a few others in the category as well!

So if Efes isn't brewed in the UK, it must be better....

As for Ale - I've currently got a thing for Gales' HSB, Sharps' Doom Bar or Wadworth's 6X.  None of which have ever given me a hangover (yet!).

No hangover????? you aren't drinking enough!!...i'm showered ,shaved, clean pants and a little dab of Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male" behind each ear...i'm truly a babe magnet....off to Wetherspoons Fareham to carry out my extensive research into the £2.35  a bottle EFES hangover, doubtless followed by the greasy Kebab and copious dribbling that ensues...i love being a man!! >:D ;D

Perhaps not having a hangover is down to being on holiday and not having to get up for work.

According to the bottle labels, both Effes sold in the UK and Kalkan have the same ingredients water, malted barley, rice and hops.

Not sure what the rice is doing there.
