Forum quiet.
« on: August 14, 2011, 03:07:02 PM »
This forum seems quieter than usual lately, doesn't seem as much jovial banter. Maybe everyone's out in Kalkan at the moment? Lucky so and so's. Never mind only three weeks to go and we'll be basking in the Turkish sun, got to be better than Welsh rain in August. Summer what summer!! Cheers  8)

It's hardly surprising with the most active thread with over 2000 hits being the "Virus" thread.
It would be good if we could have more reports from visiters but "bad news" seems to attract people more than "good news". Any suggestions on how to lift things would be greatly appreciated.
Joan

Maybe a report on the Night life, after all people are going with teenagers, and I dont think I can remember a report on the music bars.
I know most members dont do these bars, but a report could be useful for newcomers to Kalkan.

I agree we need more positive reports. My ever first visit to Kalkan I was sick for five days out of the seven, could have picked the bug up in the Uk who knows. Did it put me off no way!! This will be my seventh time since. My attitude had alway been if you're going to be ill you're going to be ill wherever and at least in Kalkan you can feel grotty sitting in the fresh air on the balcony with a great view. Believe me it does help lift the spirits, better than feeling ill when it's pouring rain outside in the  UK. Let's have more reports of great visits to give the newbies on here a bit of confidence. Cheers!!

I agree totally I said much the same on the Bags thread what has happened to this forum, last year it was full of positive "we love Kalkan" threads and yet this year it seems as if everyone wants to focus on all the negatives - as far as I am concerned there are no negatives to Kalkan., and I am not interested in putting other people down either which seems to have become a trend here. Come on this is Enjoy Kalkan lets hear some of the lovely interesting reports of great holidays and where you have all eaten lately that stands out. We are back in 10 days time and want to know all the great things you have done during your time in this magical place.

Joan

as the OP I started the thread to see if there was a 'a virus / unusual bug' so I could be prepared. Would it stop me travelling, NO but I think sometimes we can be too precious about Kalkan. We have nasties in the UK also just a fact of life.

Now off to start new thread, hope its not as long as previous one lol

Nice to see some common sense rearing it's beautiful head. We come to the forum to find out more about Kalkan because we are either thinking of coming, booked to come or have been fallen in love and want to share our experiences (yes, good and bad).
Glad to see that some of you are trying to start more positive threads.... good on you.
I come on here to Enjoy Kalkan and relive my happy holidays until I go again.
Keep up the good work  :-*
