Hi! Does anyone know what the shingle beach, just outside Kas marina, on a right hand bend with water slides and a cafe and a playground, run by students, is called?

We’d highly recommend the Carretta, it’s not only free, on the assumption that you’ll buy some food or drink, but it’s also never too busy, and there’s a pleasant free short boat trip to and from the harbour. Having said that, the last time we visited, our food order, and that of about 5 other tables took over 40 mins to arrive-allegedly the Chef was throwing a tantrum in the kitchen!
True it does have a lot of steps to the various sun bed areas, which do require your complete attention when walking about, but in turn this does mean that it’s less child friendly which can be a distinct advantage if you want a peaceful day.

Kalkan Beach Club is ok, but it’s looking rather tired. Last time we visited in June, both our initial sunbeds were broken, when we pointed the faults out to the guys there, they found us two decent beds, but just plonked the two broken one’s back down under another parasol!
You know who really gives kids a bad name? Posh and Becks

Akcagerme Beach is great for young children. You cdan get the dolmus from Kalkan and they will drop you off outside. Write the name of the beach on a bit of paper for the driver so he knows where you want to get off and you just stand on the road to flag down the dolmus for your return (no shade on the road however while you wait for the bus).

Don't forget you can catch 'taxi boats' from the harbour, to the left of where the day boats depart to the Carretta, Kalkan Beach and Palm Clubs. They are certainly very active between 09.30 and 11.30 every morning. And they all do returns from about 4.00 pm
The Kalkan Beach charges 8 tlr per person, but this is refundable via a ticket once you settle your bill at the end of the visit.
