Lunar Eclipse- First time

I have done a few things in my life and been lucky to see great things, last night was something which was very, very special. The report and photo's on KTLN captures it just right! We were travelling back from Chalis last night & were able to follow the start of the eclipse. We started looking out of open windows on our mini bus at 22.00hrs and could watch it until about 22.20hrs. The colour orange, though not as strong as in Europe so I read, do to their polution? It still was a sight to remember.
I suppose won't see this again in my life time but what a place to see it in! Herodotus although sometimes he got things on his travels, this time he was proved to be spot on! Kalkan was & is a special place to see all natural beauty & my wife & I are blessed to live in this haven!

They are quite regular so unless you're on your last legs I reckon you might see another one.

Sorry I forgot to add...............We watched it for approx 2 hours while having dinner at Salt & Pepper (very nice indeed), then sat on the pool terrace for another couple of hours, with a glass(s) of wine in hand gazing at the eclipse as it came over Kalamar Bay, it was truly wonderful, how lucky am I

We also had the privilige of witnessing the eclipse in Kalkan.
Got back last night after a lovely 11 days holiday, will do report in a couple of days
when i've come off 'Turkishtime' and am back on 'Yorkshiretime'!!!

We were very lucky with the water situation as the Lizo hotel has an extra large emergency water tank plus it was filled up by the fire engine whilst we were there but from what i hear things were getting bad in the Old town the day before we left. We had it on good authority that the pump was on route from Ankara on Thurs so hopefully the situation will be resolved for everyone asap.
Will do report in next couple of days.
