Great work by Jandarma!
« on: April 08, 2011, 12:19:11 PM »
:) The confirmed news on KTLN that 2 thieves were arrested last week. My wife & I were sitting outside the Kaya when the Jandarma caught these low life opposite us! Their car was overtaken & their route blocked, the man & woman were ordered out of the car and hustled into the 'paddy wagon' I kid you not the whole thing took less than 30 seconds! There was minimal fuss or disruption, only a couple of cars backed up and things back to normal pronto!
Since living in Kalkan my wife & I have continually been impressed with the efficiency, care and the overall manner of our local Jandarma. We feel safe in the knowledge that if a problem arises (which is rare) Kalkan is served well!
I do hope it is possible to let the Jandarma know just how much they are appreciated?  :) :) :) :) :)

Perhaps attending their offices & extending your thanks & congratulaions would be a good start, especially as you live in Kalkan.  It would certainly be appreciated.

Well done Jandarma!   A pat on the back for all concerned.  I run a big retail shop in a "posh town"( not my words!) in the south of England, most of our local retailers have to rely on "walkie talkie" radios to acquaint each other if someone has been up to no good.  Alas, in most cases, hell has frozen over before the boys in blue turn up! >:D >:D >:D

My daughter and son in law are in Kalkan at the moment, when they arrived last week they discoverd that one of the big heavy umberella stands, and the outside tap had been taken, so now that is something else they have got to buy, and then put inside when they leave, so beware do not leave anything outside that can be taken.
All i can say is by the weight of the uumbrella stand he must be named SAMSON.

We had our brolly pinched last year - but it wasn't Samson - our robber must have been a wimp - they left the base and just took the brolly!
Currently have a duplex apartment in Kiziltas which we visit as often as we can.

I understand from the person who looks after our villa that someone has chopped off the top of our Bourganvilia and dug up the root and stolen the plant!  How low can you get?

Someone suggested putting antibark collars on the dogs - how long would they last if plants are being stolen??!

Weldone the Jandarma, My friends were robbed last week! It seems the jandarma caught the thieves but some items are still missing. Kalkan is still a fab place to holiday! Cant wait to get back. Its a case of being a little more careful.
