Car journey from Scottish Highlands to Kalkan!

Maybe we are crazy but we are thinking of driving to Kalkan from Inverness in Scotland next year.

 We are planning a 3 month rental  in Kalkan or Islamar in April May June 2012. We have looked at google maps and there are a few scenic options - 3000 miles plus!

Wondered if anybody out there has done the car journey from UK and could give us any positive or negative feedback.

This a great forum, I have been on sick leave for the last 3 weeks and have had loads of time to read through lots of interesting and helpful threads. Many thanks to all the regular posters.
Also love the photo gallery - keeps me going until my next Kalkan fix in June.

Try KTLN driving from Kalkan to Kent. Its in the knowledge bank. Maps and stops etc. Just reverse it .

Hi Suziq have a look on www.turkishlocalnews.com  The guy who runs the site did this journey but the other way round - Kalkan to England.  There is a very detailed blog of the entire journey and I'm sure he would be only to pleased to help you out.

Off course we will pick you up itstime - just stand at the service station on the M74 with a sign saying Kalkan and we will stop.  I had noticed there was another Scot on the forum.

Thanks again to Charlie and howmad, I have been on KTLN site and read about the Kalkan to Kent adventures - it all sounds fab and we are counting the days. Imagine, a wonderful road trip then 3 whole months in Kalkan! Can't wait.

LOL Suziq you might just regret that offer. M74 service station is 5 minutes from my house so look out for me. I'll be wearing summer clothes(so should stand out a mile in Scotland ) carrying my suitcase and holding a huge sign saying "Wahhhhaaaayyyyyyy Kalkan here I come"
