Late night bite to eat
« on: February 18, 2011, 05:22:20 PM »
Hi all,

We arrive in Kalkan in summer about 11.30ish (PM), and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any restaurants or anywhere to get a late bite to eat?

Also could anyone tell me how much it costs roughly for a boat trip per person this year.

Thanks!

Hi, LovesKalkan,

I believe this is your first visit to Kalkan and hope you will have a wonderful time - difficult not to.

You may be anticipating arriving in Kalkan around 11.30 p.m. but there is always a chance you will be later if flights are delayed.   You don't say where you are staying but if it is a little away from the centre you might have rather a walk on your first night before you have had time to get your bearings.  If you are staying in an apartment or a villa try checking with the owner if there is to be a welcome pack and what it will contain.    If it is very limited ask if they can add a little more and offer to pay the difference.   Then you can enjoy a light meal whatever time you arrive.

Then the next day after a good nights sleep you can be entranced by all Kalkan has to offer, restaurants included.

Happy holidays.

Hi LovesKalkan

I seem to remember that there's a cafe/restaurant down the main road near the post office that's open all night. Never eaten there myself, but it has always seemed very popular.

its known as the Soup Kitchen if you're trying to get directions...always good after a late night ;D
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

We always go to Ali Baba's for late night chicken soup when we arrive. It has become a bit of a ritual. Arrive at Dalaman and immediately the taste buds are hankering for it - yummy!
