Dangerous Dog

Whilst walking in the main street of the old town today I was attacked by a large light brown dog. I had just walked past it when it leapt at my face I just managed to fend it off with my arm it was snarling and very aggressive, luckily, two Turkish people came to my aid and it ran off.
   
What really concerns me is that it was not provoked and did not give any sign that it was about to attack. It is a real worry when walking around Kalkan to have an aggressive, unpredictable dog roaming around.   

The dogs distinctive feature is its canvas collar which is to large for it, causing the end of the collar to stick out from its body.

If anybody knows who you should speak to about having this dog taken of the street please PM me, as it’s a walk I like to do most days and my face is nothing to write home about but I would like to keep it intact, even with all it’s imperfections.

This sounds like the dog which lives in one of the side streets off Hasan Altan Caddesi. Every time anyone walks past it, it barks very aggressively and once last year it went for my husband, coming in very close, snarling and looking as though it was about to leap at his face. It's only because he knows how to deal with dogs that he wasn't attacked. I loathe the animal and it terrifies me so much that I'm afraid to go out of our house (which is in one of the other side streets off H. Altan Caddesi) without my husband.
I have PM'd you with some information as to who I think owns it, but am not 100% sure, so haven't posted that on this forum.

Blue Lizard, thanks for suggesting getting in touch with KAPSA. I'll let them right know that there is a problem with this dog, and we'll see if we can identify it. Buster, if there's any chance of you taking a pic on a mobile (at a distance if needs be!) then that would be very helpful

I have sent Buster PM with my mobile number and asked him to contact me if he spots the dog again.I live in the town and could come and try and identıfy the dog.If it is owned we need to make the owner aware of the problem and take responsibility.
