back and depressed

well 10 days over and done with and gutted!
 
firstly can i highly recommend meditranee apartment a2...brilliant and only £265 for 10 nights!

well here i am 5 days into a 10 day (2nd visit) to kalkan
its as good as last year of course
 
staying at A2 meditranee apartments near samiria garden hotel (right next door)
 
1) baharat restaurant
wife had mussakka and me sea bass which was awful, (never ever had a bad meal in kalkan until now) i asked for filleted which i do not normally do and what a mistake! it was hacked to death and "piled" back on the plate and still had loads of bones in it, wouldn't return here i'm afraid, service poor too!
 
2 nar (1st time)
fantastic servie and food, couldn't fault it
 
3) ramis (3rd time)
one of my favs and he is still doing it right, aain fantastic servie and food and cheap compared to some others
 
4) ozalp (1st time)
a real find and our first time, wife had steak and me mussakka, both excellent, very highly rated for service and cost very attentive service
 
5) mussaka (1st time) om my god!! the steak in plum and red wine sauce was one of the best dishes i have ever had anywhere
 
6) illayda (1st time) so cheap and harbourside too, fantastic sizzling chicken, wife had mussaka both had soup and bottle of water, 53 lira !!
 
7) trio (1st time) slightly dissapointed in this one both for being expensive and not as good a food as next door at illyada
 
kalamaki, again slightly dissapointed,service not so good and dish very bland (lamb casserole which mostly tasted of pepper!)
 
yali bar is normal evening hideout on a sofa people watching (and sport of course)
loved sitting at fenner cafe on harbour/beach daytimes with a book
also loved lush for a cocktail, love the orange and white decor

 
one funy end to this story, was sitting on the balcony last wednesday reading my book and my chair collapsed (one of those plastic things) wife found it highly amusing!!

Good to hear that you're enjoying it, Seasick. We loved sitting outside Yali Bar too, wonderful spot to check everyone out and the staff there are fantastic.
