Change of hotel
« on: September 14, 2010, 06:12:45 PM »
Oh dear, seven weeks ago I sprained my ankle and it's still giving me loads of grief  :(
We were due to go back to the Kulube in Kalamar Bay on the 25th and always enjoy our walk home after yet another good night in Kalkan, but this ankle is not going to stand a 40 min walk for 14 nights  ::)
We've changed to the Yali, which I understand is a 10 minute flat walk into Kalkan, so hopefully I'll be OK.
Starting to get excited about going now, although I'm thinking I'll need some new holiday clothes, the lack of exercise and feeling sorry for myself comfort eating has had an effect on the waistline (or lack of one!)  :o

Hi Kefgirl. Sorry to hear about your ankle - horribly painful, and surprisingly tricky to manage. Hopefully 11 days will make a real difference to your mobility - moving your hotel is a great call.

New holiday clothes? Do you need a reason?  :-\
Nah.  >:D

Take a pain killer and hit the shops ... or wait till you get there - end of season sales!
if you can walk you can dance

Thanks lorilou, you're right  :D  I'll look upon it as a "Shopertunity!"  ;D
I think the anaesthetic qualities of Angora and LAL will help as well!  ;)

Whatever anesthetic you need, Kefgirl.

But no excuses for shopping! Like they say "just do it" - or - is it " because youre worth it"  :D ha ha.

A little of both! Enjoy your holiday and don't forget to tell all here!

Dear Kefgirl

Hope you will manage - I had keyhole surgery on my knee recently - BUT 5 sleeps until Kalkan!   Will drink the local anaesthetic, enjoy the scenery and get a taxi back to the villa!   I am sure Kalkan will weave it's magic healing spell on all of us.  Have a good holiday :) :) :)

Hi maryjane, hope your knee heals quickly. Enjoy the sunshine and wonderful ambience of Kalkan, both are guaranteed to help the process  ;)
Don't forget to keep your legs moving on the flight,  as you've had recent surgery.
I can't think of a nicer place to convalesce!  :D

Yes it is a flat walk - probably a minimum 15 minutes and you will come out by the Indigo Beach club and the harbour so unless you lots of cash and can afford to eat in the harbourside restaurants you will still need to walk uphill to the other restaurants.  As it is the coastal road it is unlit and quite bumpy - so take care.  you might be better of with somewhere like the Meldi so that you can at least walk of proper pavements

Thanks slodge, for really useful information  :)
I'll be posting reports in 8 days! Whoo! (wearing the larger size clothes I've just had to buy  :( ) Never mind, I'll make a concerted effort when I get back!
