kalkan trip report
« on: August 23, 2010, 05:06:20 PM »
Just back from a very hot 2 weeks in kalkan.Already looking for next years villa and hoping to introduce friends to kalkan but am a little worried about the heat as we found it much hotter than in the past?

Went on a boat trip on Pinar x fabulous food.A great day out,I think the trips are all pretty much the same but a good day out to escape the heat!

Tried some of the newer cheaper restaurants like Chillies and Bread and more, great value!
Our favourite would probably have been Cafe Zula, great food and good value.Found the harbourside restaurants a bit pricey this year so avoided them. Also went back to old favourites like The Fish Terrace, Korsan Kebap and The Nar Bar,still as good as ever.cafe Vita still good value for a nice meal but maybe they could add another couple of new dishes for next year?

Stayed in a lovely hotel on Kalamar road,B & B, £56 per room per night for 3 of us!

Kalamar beach club as nice as ever, thank goodness for the pick up service.

Used the new bus service, aimed to catch the 8 o'clock bus each evening but it was always standing room only even though the start of the bus route was only 5 mins from our hotel!
Maybe they could lay on a couple of extra buses in the evenings at peak times? Not sure many people knew about the new bus service, its a great idea but will be hard to get on the bus as more people realise it is available!!

Roll on next year!!

Hi ladybird
Thanks for taking the time out to share your holiday with us. Good to hear you had a good time - and found it just as satisfying and fun to eat at less expensive eateries.
The new bus service is clearly very popular - which is great as they'll keep it going as long as people use it!
Are you willing to share the name of the hotel you stayed at? Fantastic value ...

Hope the post holiday blues don't kick in too soon ... everyone on here seems to book again straight away!!!
:)
Thanks again, will be gigving your ideas a try in exactly 6 weeks! Hurrah!
