....don't worry, most people on here know I'm obsessed with towels, limes and diamante flip flops...oh and bags ;D ;D ;D

The weather is a far more acceptable obsession - the British nation is almost entirely afflicted ;) Towels...? now that is serious professional help territory :-[ :-[ ::)
Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt :)

a little note for kalkan4eva......the weather forecast this morning showed the only sunny part of the country to be the southeast......wrong....put it this way, I'm not hanging my washing out and have just heard a distant rumble of thunder.....and we are in Kent....you can't get any further south east in this country!  ???

there....I am officially obsessed!

They also said there was going to be a thunderstorm a few days ago at 6 o'clock. Still waiting for it!

;) If you do get rain don't stand under a tree. WE did, it obviously hadn't rained for a long while and we got covered by all the dirt and dust that got washed off. WE had to stand out in it to get showered off!

I notice with awe and some trepidation the forward forecast for Kalkan, esp. Tues 21st Sept - our first full day! Rain!!

How in G...'s name can they be so precise, today's forecast here (not one hour ago) - sunshine.  Is now p.....g with rain and have just had a clap of thunder - is there a witch doctor somewhere who can predict abroad but not my local area? :o

Don`t worry Maryjane, they`ve now changed the forecast to rain on Wednesday, so you will have a decent first day before the downpour! It`s our first week as well, but the forecast for the rest of the week is pretty good, so lets hope they are better at guessing than over here ;D

We arrived yesterday (Sunday) and Accuweather had a forecast for Monday as high temperature 24 degrees, realfeel 23 degrees.  They added that it would be breezy which was correct.
It was clearly hotter, I have brought over a new digital thermometer and it reached 33 today (in the shade) and at 7.45 p.m. it's still 27.  Infact its absolutely gorgeous, I am sitting outside and Kalkan is so warm, serene and quiet.
The BBC seem to be more accurate although the closest I can find is Fethiye.

Hummingbird, that sounds very. very pleasant indeed. 27C at 7.45pm?!  I'll buy that!

Hopefully it can stay somewhere close to that for two more weeks until we get there - maybe that's a big ask?!

cheers

Antler

Well there was no sign of rain when we were out there.  :D Just a few little fluffy clouds, 34+ temps and a lovely breeze.  Even Mr E came back with a tan. Now it's back to 22 degrees and mist.

I brought over a pool thermometer as well Antler.  The water is 28 or just over.
Amazing to think that the water temperature here now is higher than the UK air temp for the vast majority of its Summer.
