I was brought up in Kent but we now live in Marlow in "leafy" Buckinghamshire. (Why do they always call it "leafy" Buckinghamshire? Admittedly it''s not exactly a concrete jungle but there are more picturesque places I can think of). Still, it''s pleasant enough. Damned expensive though.

  East Anglia on the Essex/Suffolk border ,but was born and brought up deep in the heart of Suffolk.

New Malden in Surrey but was born and brought up in Wimbledon.   So a London girl.  I lived in central London during the sixties which was great fun.   Pauline

Kings Lynn in Norfolk, on the east coast of England with some very beautiful beaches.

Lougie - We are originally from Kings Lynn although we live in Leicestershire now. Most of OH family are still there and we visit frequently.

Small world, I didn''t imagine there would be anyone else from Kings Lynn on here as it''s such a small town, it''s quite a nice town really, lots of history, the old parts of the town is nice & the new marina area, it''s one of the few places left in the UK where crime is still quite low.

John, I may have moved more than you did before settling in Kalkan.  How about this?  Minnesota -> Arizona -> Pennsylvania -> California -> New York -> Addis Ababa, Ethiopia -> Accra, Ghana -> Tangier, Morocco -> Rome, Italy -> Marina Baie des Anges, France -> Mandelieu -> Boston, MA -> Kalkan, now shared with Ojén, Spain.

In a bid for an honourable second place behind Cosetta:

Born Enfield, Middlesex (now the London Borough of Enfield, so I could claim to be a Londoner), then up the road to Waltham Cross, Herts, then The Hague in the Netherlands, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Hanoi in Vietnam, back to Hoddesdon in Herts, then Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Hoddesdon again, Prague in the Czech Republic and Broxbourne, Herts, with every chance of living somewhere called Kalkan, apparently in Turkey from next Spring.  Mrs is from Antalya and once lived in Hackney, Croydon and Golders Green.

Just think what that trip would have cost in a Kalkan taxi?  Good job it was primarily at the taxpayer''s expense.  I love you all.

Hi we live right on the staffs cheshire border, we had magnificent views for thirty years over looking the cheshire plains with the welsh mountains in the background, that untill the year 2000, we had new neighbours, they started to plant trees,more trees, and more trees, now eight years later we have no views at all, they still have theire sunny garden and buitiful sun sets, we have lost all that, why ho; why are some people so selfish and inconsiderate.
But we still have our lovley Kalkan with our lovley views.

Hubby is a Kiwi, born in Wellington New Zealand. I am from the Emerald Isle, born and lived in the Dingle Peninsula  in West Kerry.We now live in Esher in Surrey.We both love the mountains and sea and Kalkan is just perfect.

From a smallish town called Belper in Derbyshire.  The lovely peak district is on our doorstep, so not a bad place to live.  Very envious of Cosetta living in Roma, how I envy you.  Am still struggling to learn the beautiful language.  Although I have a feeling Kalkan may become that special place.  Roll on the 24th Aug.

Pauline, I lived in Rome from 1971-1986. First lived in San Saba, near FAO, later Mostacciano near EUR. Left there having almost forgotten English. Worked in Italian. Still my favorite country.
